Julia and Nathan were such a joy at their Westminister Ponds Engagement session. Their connection is undeniable and we are so happy that they found each other!

The Race that changed it all

It all started in 2016 when Julia’s friend asked her if she wanted to go to a drag racing event. She had never been but agreed. Nathan was also at the drag race. He brought his pickup truck that wasn’t exactly designed for racing, but was in the race. When he won the race, Nathan asked Julia if she wanted to go for a lap around the track together. (Anyone else think this sounds like it belongs in the cutest romcom?). Well, she agreed, and their connection was instant.

The Proposal

On a winter day, Nate had a proposal plan in place. They would take their rescue dog, Emilio, for a walk, but Julia wasn’t sure she wanted to go. With some coaxing, Juia joined it. It all unfolded with a romantic proposal on a kissing bridge. Nate told Julia to turn around, and when she turned back he was on one knee and popped the question! The sweetest part of it all was that he asked her parents for their permission (we just love this, it’s just so thoughtful when a guy honours the girls parents like this!).

Made for each other

This duo is so amazing! Nate is such a down-to-earth and friendly guy, and the way he admires and cares for Julia is stand-out! Julia is a natural beauty, a carefree soul and she’s seriously a total sweetheart! It really didn’t take long at all for us to realize how these two are meant for each other. Their dynamic is the sweetest thing to watch, and they are the kind of couple that inspire us to love one another so well!

A Westminister Ponds engagement session in London, Ontario

We loved Julia and Nathan’s Westminister Ponds engagement session. Westminister ponds did not disappoint. This conservation area in the heart of London Ontario has 5 ponds total! It’s also a designated wetland with so many different bird species so it was a gorgeous place to visit. At one point we saw 4 adult geese with about 15 baby geese trailing behind. They were so cute! In the middle of our session, they made a reappearance but this time were taking up the path. We did a quick change of plans and waited for the little darlings to finish their trek to where they wanted to go! There was so much beauty in this one spot for their engagement session. The wooded paths framed by the canopy of trees, the cattails and bogs make this London conservation area such a gem!

Our favourite part about hanging out with these two at their Westminister Ponds Engagement session was just how easy-going and fun they are. We’re so grateful for them and walked away from their engagement session feeling like we get to serve some pretty awesome humans. And we are lucky that we get to to be at their wedding as friends with cameras! The two of us can’t wait to see you soon Julia & Nathan. It’s going to be the best celebration!
