Anum & Mike’s Winter Woodstock Ontario Elopement

He wove his warm hand into hers. This was this moment they had talked about so many times before. An undercurrent of quiet and nervous excitement bubbled up. Their daydreams were finally happening on this chilled February morning. The cold air nipped and played with her hair and they walked hand in hand, now calm, collected, and overcome with the promise of each other’s love. This was the day.

A heartfelt celebration

Anum and Mike held their Woodstock Ontario elopement at the Woodstock Courthouse and the very beautiful and charming historic guest house, Château La Motte. Simple, meaningful, and heartfelt, these star-crossed lovebirds tied the knot with their closest family celebrating around them. Their chilly winter day did not put a damper on the laughter and tangible joy felt by everyone there.

The historic charm of Woodstock

After their Woodstock Courthouse elopement ceremony, we headed to the Woodstock Museum and hit up a few of Woodstock’s most memorable landmarks! The snow started to dance around us as we got closer to the time of the reception. We stopped for some photos where there was a line of beautiful trees on either side. It was so picturesque and perfect.

We then made our way to Woodstock’s Château La Motte for the family celebrations. This historic guest home and B&B delivered charm and hospitality in spades and is period-restored in addition to having some quirky and fun finds scattered throughout! Château La Motte is this incredible mix of a classic feel with personality. A family-style meal by Little Mushroom Catering, lots of laughter, and the swanky feel of the mansion’s decor made for the perfect backdrop for this intimate elopement celebration. It was such an honour to be a part of their day.

One for the books

By the time we left the celebrations, we felt like we were leaving behind family. Anum and Mike, thank you for sharing your day with us and making us feel so welcome on your beautiful day. Before you know it, you will have one year of marriage under your belt… enjoy that chocolate mint anniversary cake and keep loving each other well for the many, many years to come!
