This Chatham Armouries and Retro Suites wedding was so gorgeous and reminded us why we do what we do. Filled with the love of family and lots of laughter and happy tears, it was a wedding day we’ll never forget!
He held the silver chained vintage pocket watch in his hand. It had belonged to his great grandfather. This was the day he was marrying the woman he had always dreamed about. And his grandfather was right there beside him, sharing the gift his father had passed on to him to celebrate… The day that Adam and Nicole got married, was a gift to not only the generations before them, their parents and family, but also to everyone in attendance.
When Adam and Nicole prepped us for their wedding day and first told us about their Great Gatsby theme, we were really excited! Their wedding theme brought back to memories of our own wedding — we had a classic vintage themed wedding as well and it was the best! These two are really special. Adam is a trained opera singer with a heart of gold. Nicole is the picture of grace and her kindness is so apparent. She made such a gorgeous bride!
Classic, elegant, and romantic wedding days surrounded by down-to-earth and fun people are our jam. And the atmosphere and celebration on Adam & Nicole’s wedding day delivered in spades. It was all about family and we loved it! These two and their families were so kind. It was such an amazing group of people and we loved documenting their big day!
Adam & Nicole’s Great Gatsby themed wedding day was held at three of our top favourite unique and beautiful wedding venues in Chatham, Ontario. Their wedding day preparations started at the Retro Suites Hotel, a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel. The Retro Suites Hotel is overflowing with vintage character and class. Each room has its own gorgeous theme. Nicole’s getting ready on her wedding day was at the King William hotel suite, a grand setting. Her 1920s hairdo was perfection, and her lace dress was divine! While Nicole was getting ready, Adam was getting ready with his dad, grandfather, brothers and his closest friends. They were in the Town & Country suite, a swanky two-story suite beaming with amazing natural light.
Adam and Nicole’s Catholic wedding ceremony was held at St. Joseph’s Parish in Chatham. St. Joseph’s Parish is a breathtaking wedding ceremony venue. The cathedral ceilings, columns and natural light filtering in that day were heavenly! And we loved seeing Adam sneaking glances at Nicole during the ceremony, it was the sweetest thing!
After their wedding ceremony and family portraits at St. Joseph’s Parish, we went to Mud Creek Park in Chatham for wedding party and couples portraits. Mud Creek is a scenic spot complete with a breathtaking pathway of trees.
Adam and Nicole’s reception was held at the absolutely stunning Chatham Armouries, a gorgeous Banquet and Conference Centre. The Armouries is one of our favourite wedding venues in Chatham Kent because it’s so unique and such q classy wedding venue! The Chatham Amrouies is over 100 years, sits beside the Thames River and used to be a military reserve. We love wedding venues with history.
The Armouries has exposed red brick walls, a dreamy fairy light wall, sweepingly majestic ceilings that are very tall, and huge windows. In addition, the Chatham Armouries lets in so much light which is another reason why it’s so perfect for natural light wedding photography. The vintage charm of this venue made for such a classy, memorable backdrop for Adam and Nicole’s wedding day!
Adam & Nicole’s Chatham Armoury wedding included florals by Syd Kemsley Florist. Gorgeous deep and rich timeless red flowing florals were incorporated throughout the day in Nicole’s bouquet, aisle memorials, and centrepieces. The same florals that adorned Saint Joseph’s Parish were also perfectly overflowing at the Armoury banquet hall. We loved how both their ceremony and reception venues had the same vintage classic feel pulled across!
Our favourite touch was the framed photographs of the parents, grandparents, and great grandparents from both sides – the people who led this beautiful couple to this point in time – at their entrance table. These photographs were displayed in such a moving way, gathered together and looking back at everyone who stepped into the hall. It was so special to see all the history and legacy being honoured at their wedding.
Highlights from this Great Gastby Wedding included Adam sweeping his bride, and all their guests, off their feet with an a cappella classically-sung performance of When I Fall In Love. You get dancing and celebration followed! An Espresso bar and dessert table provided the perfect complements to the Armoury’s Four Diamond Catering.
Adam and Nicole, thank you for the honour of having us as your photographers. We loved documenting your first day as husband and wife. We are so excited for your love story because we know your love will be an inspiration to other generations to come. And Who knows? The day may come when you have a son who holds that same watch on his wedding day, proving once again that love, like time, marches on.

"Dylan & Sandra were incredible! We're not naturally comfortable getting our pictures taken, but they made us feel at ease. They captured the feeling of our wedding... When I look at the pictures it transports me right back. It's been such a precious gift!!"
